Comparing 2 great games

Opening scenes

Bioshock 1

Bioshock Infinite

Both games start with a lighthouse and a man. In one game, you descend. In the other one, you ascend. Both openings have meanings, but Bioshock 1 has the opening that pulls you in right away.

Setting

Bioshock 1

Bioshock Infinite

Both games settings are amazing, impossible settings. Rapture from Bioshock 1 is haunting, Columbia from Bioshock Infinite is breathtaking. Rapture pulls ahead slightly from Columbia because of this: You always feel surrounded. In Columbia, there are some times when the setting changes from amazing set pieces like in the beginning, but quickly goes to a shabby town. In Rapture, I ALWAYS felt like I was in an impossible, incredible setting. In Columbia, I sometimes felt like I was in a regular game setting surrounded by clouds.

Antagonist:

Bioshock 1

Bioshock Infinite

Both characters have motivations, and reasons for building incredible cities. Both are great antagonist, but Ryan felt like a more fleshed out character.

Soundtrack

Both games have very good soundtracks. The soundtracks gave the game life. Bioshock Infinite's soundtrack had more meaning, though, and was overall more enjoyable

Gameplay:

Some people complained about Bioshock 1's gameplay/ combat. Bioshock infinite improves on the originals in every way

Characters:

Both games have memorable characters. Ryan, Comstock, Cohen, Lutece. While Bioshock 1's antagonist might have the edge over Infinite's, the supporting cast are very important to the story and appear throughout the game appear and add to the story, so much so that their appearances are some of the most memorable parts of the game.

Victor: Bioshock Infinite

Enemies: IMO, this isn't even close. The Big Daddy's and Splicers, vs the people of Columbia vs Song Bird. The Big Daddy is one of the most memorable enemies in gaming history, and the splicers were very enjoybale to fight. The enemies in Bioshock infinite did not have nearly the same charm.

"Extra" Content:

This meaning easter eggs, backstory, and voxophones/audio diaries. While I think the number of great "audio diaries" outnumber the great ones in Infinite, Bioshock Infinite is littered with easter eggs, references, and one of the deepest backstories of all time.

Bioshock 1:

Boss Battles:

Bioshock Infinite had a boss battle at the beginning of the game that was very memorable. Bioshock 1 has multiple. From the Cohen set pieces to the end one, Bioshock 1 is a clear favorite.

Story:

Would You Kindly Bring Us The Girl And Wipe Away The Debt? 2 great stories, 2 great games. Bioshock 1 had one of the most mind blowing turning points of all time, while Bioshock Infinite has one of the most mind blowing endings of all time. Bioshock infinite nearly pulls away because of the incredible backstory, and the ending that people have been discussing for weeks.

End Result:
